hello osaka

I had to admit I am uncertain that this was my first visit -but the Glico Man sure got me excited. Osaka gave me an impression of a night city even before visiting; but the food did not disappoint (alright... maybe a little). Our airbnb was an apartment near Shinsaibashi (no pictures shame) so Dotonbori was within walking distance. On the way there we got takoyaki from Ganso Ajiho but it wasn't fresh and got a little soggy/deflated from being left in the box for sometime -not super great even if the taste is still there. Bokkoshi Ramen was our next stop for their famous thick chicken broth ramen, Ichiran was not on our list for its never-ending queue and also its availability in HK. That broth was thicker than tonkotsu and it comes in two colors: white and black, where black is the original flavor topped with a layer of toasted sesame oil. We both preferred the original. Being all tired we decided just to stroll along the streets of Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi whilst people-watching -mostly queuing and eventually ended up queuing for Pablo (and revisiting it many many times after that). We used the hot bath and found out we ran out of hot water after filling the tub -but it was okay.
