that bamboo forest

Probably what Arashiyama's most well-known for, the bamboo forest is a short walk from the train station. Arashiyama gave off a similar vibe to Gion, with less people, more nature and zen. The stores lining the streets looked old-fashioned and I really liked the chimney that made me thought of Spirited Away. Editing this batch of photos gave me a little mixed feelings, as there were more portraits than the bamboo forest itself (lol at my mushroom head). Trust me, it takes way more patience and luck to get a picture perfect bamboo forest shot. There were two girls who were patiently holding a Brazilian flag waiting for the moment to come, and it seemed like tourists nowadays could wake up earlier just to get that shot.
