A few weeks ago my young aunt told me she'll be going to Thailand after picking up her little sister from her university, so I shamelessly asked whether I could tag along, since I've never been there before.
It was a really short trip, as we only stayed over for one night.
I took a lot of photos, but most of them are shitty. It took me a lot of effort to choose and edit them cos the colours are so ugly (still looks ugly but whatever I'm so skillless)
Day 1: Back to my hometown!
Golden (?) paddy fields along the road.
Grandma cooked my favourite red wine chicken soup + meesua for lunch :9
I re-discovered my love for my grandparents from this short stay. I never stopped loving them, just I love them more now. They are so cute and irresistible. This year's their 50th wedding anniversary so we're planning to do something for them :)
Visited the new house. I have no pictures because I only brought my 50mm with me for this trip.
Grandpa plants veggies (red spinach) on the land around the house. This is my first time seeing him do these jobs: fertilizing the soil, watering and etc. He's really strong although he's already in his seventies. You know what? He actually climbed over the tall wall to enter the house because we were inside and he doesn't have the keys.
Slept over at my aunt's house because we'll depart at 5:30am on the next morning.
Day 2: Off to Thailand!
First meal in Thailand. It's kinda difficult for us to find food since we don't speak Thai.
I don't know what is this guava thing but it's miraculously sweet.
Headed to Lee Gardens (that's what they call that place) in the evening for dinner.
bird's nest and tong sui
sharkfin
I really have no idea why are we having these in Hatyai. My aunt searched on the internet and recommended them. Overall, my favourite dish would be the tomyam soup (although it might be dangerous for weak stomachs). The oyster omelet tastes great too.
This dog has been sleeping all the time. I went to the same place next morning and found him sleeping at almost the same spot.
Mango sticky rice is a must try in Thailand, isn't it?
They also came out with another variant known as durian sticky rice, but we didn't try that.
You can find tong sui stalls everywhere.
Just a gentle warning: Their tong sui is different from what we have here. It's more ...instant? They soaked the ingredients in sweet syrup beforehand, then only add sweet soup to them. It's quite obvious because the ginkgo tastes sweeter than the soup.
Day 3: Leaving Hatyai.
Wanted to look for food but got lost.
This is Kim Yong market, if I'm not mistaken.
Finally made it to the dimsum shop!
They also have bak-kut-teh, but I would rather call it mushroom soup.
Small and dry lomaikai.
Had caramel macchiato while waiting for the mall to open.
Checked out of the hotel and finally returned to our motherland. It's really tiring.
Day 4: Going home!
My all-time favourite breakfast. Too good.
The haze has worsen a lot. It's crazy seeing this scene in Malaysia. It looked as if we're in another country.
