lower east side / 2016

Very overdue post from 2016. We flew from Las Vegas to NYC for a short 3-day stay.
Our second aunt delivered some food over to our airbnb in Lower East Side the day we checked in.
It's crazy to rethink how grandpa travelled over the hemisphere to reunite with her.

Loquats from aunt - my first time having them.

Good morning NYC (lots of siren).

Aunt brought us some banh mi on their way from Chinatown.

Got some doughnuts from Doughnut Plant in the morning. So sweet!

You can find our airbnb here.

twin peaks

Watching the sun laying its last rays on the city from Twin Peaks was a windy and chilly experience but it didn't suck.

bay bridge

19.1.2016

I wrote about this day when I traveled alone from Berkeley to San Francisco by our free AC Transit, and I'm embarrassed how it took me forever to post these.
Embarcadero has been a favourite area of mine to explore since then, although the Ferry Building is a tad bit expensive to spend in. I visited both bridges the same day, and the Bay Bridge was prettier than GGB that day cos the fog rolled in and left the GGB hidden from us.
I really love places where water flows, be it rivers or ocean. It feels as if the city is alive and moving like us. The waves give me a sense of peace and tranquility by just watching them disappear.
Gosh, I'm missing this place.

balmy valley

San Francisco

One day, I want to make enough money to relive this dream in SF.
We got ice-cream from Bi-Rite and were surprised by the number of people at the Mission Dolores Park -what a pity that I haven't been there! Balmy Valley was where we headed for -I was being a really bad trip planner and simply sought for alleys with murals on Google. (secretly hopes places like these exist in my country, and damn I miss Philz Coffee)

Can't remember myself in long hair. It's been quite some time...

Bless the artists. Street art is one of the things that gmh. Fuck hard lights.
