sunny sheung wan

PICTURE HEAVY ALERT
I loved Sheung Wan ever since my first visit, and I never stopped wanting to come back again. These were shot on April Fool's. It was one of those days when I decided I need to leave the campus and go on a photo walk alone, and maybe get coffee along the way. I only had Plan A since the weather was super nice, and I know the way pretty well. Walking from Sheung Wan to PMQ to Mid Levels, Central may sound far, but it wasn't that bad if you enjoy people watching as much as I do. Also, there are a lot of murals around this area which is pretty cool to check out! Sheung Wan is one of those places that make me wanna stay in Hong Kong, and I still want to live a tourist life here.

pmq

My second third visit in nearly two years. The curiosity in a sophomore college girl for the cool factor in the city in me has been replaced by something else. I stare into the space thinking how my friend's comment of PMQ as an atas place made me LOLed and I really appreciate that sincere comment a lot now. How many kids nowadays would think that way.
I wandered around the place, being extra careful with my backpack and camera so I didn't have to spend a buck on breaking any fragile things here. There were many controversial thoughts in my mind: how do people here make money without charging their prices high, who can afford these things set at that price, why do people even like places like this...
The last one wasn't even difficult to answer. Places like this attract people because of the fantasies they give to people who come here. I didn't like to use the term hipster since its existence is already controversial -but yeah, being cool is on top of everything. Things/trends going from uncool to cool to uncool -that never ending cycle is making me grow tired of it and just want the consumables to not change anymore. I stopped purchasing clothes and only buy things that I need in the short future. I tried to throw as little things as possible. I tried not to waste. Although the change was insignificant compared to what the others are doing, I am learning to be satisfied with my own attitude and not influenced by the others'. I will continue to try learning that, I promise.
