This jolly buddy is definitely not the spotlight of this post but it's a happy way to start the post. On the day after Christmas we went to Tai Tong, Yuen Long which is an hour away from our dorm to catch up with the maple craze here. There are several places one may go for maple viewing, but Tai Tong seems to be the most popular spot so we expect to get the best view here.
Unfortunately it was a holiday so it was super crowded. We reached there somewhere early noon, took off at a wrong bus stop (followed a family whom headed towards the Harbin Ice Festival place) but managed to find the place after wandering for some time.
Check this page for directions after taking off the K66 bus. I wouldn't recommend people who dislike exercising to visit this place as it requires a lil walking/hiking. For outer wear, bring something easy to remove/wear on as you'll definitely sweat. Definitely bring some food or snacks for a little picnic with your pals!
It was a cloudy day which explains the lack of vibrancy, but it gives a different feeling, more like a moody autumn day. This year's winter ain't too chilly, with a temperature difference up to ~5 degrees so it wasn't too bad for hiking.
