Yesterday
Finally met the professor and her response on a teammate's question of withdrawing from an upcoming competition was hilarious imo. Some people just needed someone with much higher caliber to persuade -I told Rachel that I really get mad and become unwilling to talk from people trying my patience too much; I only had that much patience for myself so there's no extra room for you boy.
My modernization professor seems to be working on a new piece of interesting work but I guess I have no time to be involved in that. I scored pretty well for my process safety quiz despite a super last minute preparation; I probably should skip more classes.
I went out and bought a few kgs of fresh groceries back to the university. It was really odd that I can't seem to find onions in the supermarket on campus that I got everything needed to make soup today. I saw people going to the Chungking Mansion, where I never really paid attention before seeing another girl describing that place by the phrase "I exited this place alive". I googled and found Wong Kar Wai's film and watched it cos I didn't really wanna work on my homework. Got so hooked on this song and Tony Leung's ikemen face. Faye's attempt to make him realize the change in his apartment was so creepy that I thought was super interesting -too bad things don't work that way irl. This bgm is pretty nice too.
Today
I woke up to my alarm, did laundry, had breakfast, made soup, had lunch, vacuumed my room and listened to old songs. I really should work on that piece of homework.
A recipe to my ABC soup (just adding my family's version to the Internet):
Vegetables: tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, onion, corn (ratio is 2:2:2:1:1)
Meat: pork/chicken, preferably with bones
Seasoning: a slice of washed zha cai (榨θ), crushed black peppercorns
I don't usually cook with a precise measurement and hence the ratio. This soup is super easy to make and gives a really heartwarming feeling especially to Malaysians. I got sick the night after that Shin Ramyun and had a full-day class on the next day. I slept for 10 hours and decided I need to make myself something nutritious. And really, I can't go out to have fun this weekend being stranded to so much homework. My phone's been giving me many touchscreen sensitivity issues so I guess it's not a bad thing to stop myself from using it too much.
Hope you had a Saturday that's better than mine. The gloomy weather here isn't helping a lot.
Happy Birthday Daddy! π Hope to see you next month!
