As the name suggested, the Pioneer Square is probably where Seattle started -I was so surprised to learn that the city was built on the old buildings destroyed in the Great Seattle Fire in 1889 from the Underground Tour. Rebuilding the city replaced the wooden houses with brick and the city is one level higher now (no pun intended). Going underground from no where and exiting from the other end of the street feels like something from a detective novel. This corner of the city is definitely not my favourite but it was where everything started from.
