I wasn't certain about the decision of publishing these images online as they contain far more than I know... A history of my extended family, my great-grandfather whom I didn't get to meet before he died from smoking and working really hard for the family and getting through the British and Japanese occupation, getting baptized, watching his sons get married etc. Finding his passport was a surprise, as his photo in monochrome was still well kept and holding the little book in my hands gave me a mix of feelings idek if it's gratefulness/sadness/happiness. Great-grandfather hired some men to build this house more than 40 years ago (he was a builder in his early years) and his daughters still live here when the others moved out. I haven't really explored the house when I was younger (always afraid of dirt/mice/dark corners) so I decided to do it one day when I was back. It was a nostalgic treasure hunt for me, and it is totally fine if you'd like to skip over these and just take a look at these portraits of my grandma and cousin.
My first time helping my grandfather to get the cocoa beans out of the pods. How funny I have never done this when I was a kid.
