i did it

My first volunteer photographer experience wasn't great -I was considered late even if I arrived on time and there wasn't anyone who briefed me about my task and what else to do after completion. I played along by taking it as a hiking opportunity (hey, free transportation and subjects to shoot!) and started my 9 km walk.
This route doesn't offer awesome sea view like the ones in Sai Kung, but there's a lot of trees in this country park which I find very attractive. Tsuen Wan is an hour away from the university via public transportation so I wouldn't imagine the others coming along with me (even if it's really beautiful) for having to leave their bed at 6 a.m. I got insomnia the night before, leaving me with only 2 hours of sleep before the event. I felt like a superwoman for going to TST and visiting another two museums in the afternoon, but that's probably how every traveler felt like: exhausted yet satisfied.

The event was organized by Friends of the Earth HK and they hired 2 local DJs for emceeing. The participants come from various backgrounds -mostly from corporations (trying to demonstrate that they are SRCs), and I was more than happy to find students from my university attending the event (I don't feel so alone...)

I arrived at 8:30 am and the event started at 9:00 am, so I basically just walked along and photographed these guys. It was a little disappointing when I heard people grunting and saying that they should've called an uber as a matte all black (Batman) Tesla drove by.

Lots of cow dung along the way but fortunately no cows in sight.

This was CP2, where you get to use the toilet and refill water. People will get to choose and carry the young trees to where they should be planted.

Taking care of the public image - a few photographer fellows were trying to sell some other things apart from their photo skills. The world of grownups is so nasty tbh.

These city babies found a plant on the ground and asked whether if it's a pineapple. I can't help but answer them no. They even asked if pineapples grow on trees omfg

The hike of the event ends after a little walk from this point. However, it takes an hour walk to reach the base of the hill. Many people complained why was it designed that way.

My initial task was to photograph the creative ideas used when transporting the saplings, but there wasn't any till I saw this at the last stop.

The view on the way back to the city was pretty good. However there wasn't much shade so I guess my skin was a shade darker after yesterday.

Tsuen Wan is very near to the airport -the planes looked so much bigger from there.

MacLehose Section 9 / half of Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail conquered!
It was a rather easy hike: not very steep and mostly paved, but it is very long and can be a boring one. Thankfully we started hiking from Tai Lam Country Park, as I could imagine it being very tiring to start from the base. My butt hurts one day after the hike from running down the stairs and hill.
