I realized I shot way less photos this time when traveling that I had nothing documented on our way from Haneda to Hakone. So basically our trip based on the photos started around 12:30 pm on 30th May, 2018 in Hakone, after we dropped our bags in our airbnb in Odawara.
Odawara > Hakone-Yumoto
It's nice how the kids get to go on school trips in summer with their cute little yellow caps.
Just trying out this template for fun.
We went past and returned to the Chōkoku-no-Mori Station as I wanted to visit the Hakone Open Air Museum. It's right about time for lunch, and we literally had no idea what this place has got to offer. Hence our first experience to mugitoro gohan - a Japanese dish that is so authentic that it still hasn't got itself an English Wikipedia page - is grated yam on rice. The yam is not ube or taro but Chinese yam; it turns into a puddle of slime with natto-like texture when grated. It was interesting.
It started to rain after the museum visit. Shucks that we didn't get to see Mt. Fuji this time.
It's been 10 years since my last visit (wtf
Our friend was afraid of heights and couldn't come to Owakudani with us by the ropeway so we got her some eggs to lengthen her life orz.
Can't get over all these hydrangeas.
We couldn't finish the whole route as the ferry service and cable car stops at 5 p.m., so we left for the Hakone Yuryo for dinner and a hot onsen soak in the drizzle before going back to Odawara.
This girl was all in smiles despite not being able to get on to the cable car to Owakudani cos she was the only one who finished the planned route!
