summer in Hokkaido: day 3 pt. i

We spent the morning in Otaru. This is one of the most beautiful places in Hokkaido. I don't think any tourist would miss this spot when visiting Hokkaido. However, I didn't really enjoyed visiting the Otaru Canal. It was too crowded with tourists and totally not how I've imagined the place to be. Look at this! With so many people around it would be almost impossible to shoot a view like this. I personally think this place looks more beautiful at night, too bad we couldn't be there at that time.
The Otaru Orgel Museum (小樽γ‚ͺルゴール堂) is awesome as always. Orgel = music box btw.
This place is full of music boxes. Even if you're not a big fan of music boxes, you couldn't resist them! The first time I came here, I bought nothing. When my parents went there again, we requested them to buy us one with the song "Carrying You" from the Ghibli movie Laputa. This time, we've got our own money, and we bought three of them! (Alright one was supposed to be a present for my sister's friend, but we decided to save it for ourselves haha)
So these were the ones we've bought:
  • η©Ίγ‚‚ι£›γΉγ‚‹γ―γš by γ‚Ήγƒ”ッツ (I loved this song because of this boy, he sang it so many times)
  • い぀も何度でも -ending from the Ghibli movie, Spirited Away
  • ζ„›γ§γ—γŸ by ι–’ジャニ∞ (first time listening to this and loved it)

Another thing in Otaru is the famous seven-layered ice-cream! Didn't got a really nice shot of the ice-cream cos we started eating it like a few seconds later. The ice-cream is huge, so I would recommend sharing it among 4~5 people unless you plan not to have lunch later.
Things I've not done in Otaru and regretting it:
  • try out the Double Fromage cheesecake from LeTAO
  • see the steam clock work
  • buy glassware from any shops (even though they are useless for me)
Part ii is during & after lunch! Stay tuned!
