shinjuku memories

A place that self-identifies whenever I see it on Instagram. Shinjuku sure wins over any other wards in Tokyo for being famous about its nightlife. Most tourists would pick this transportation hub of Tokyo to stay for its convenience to reach the outskirts.

Omoide Yokocho -literally meaning Memory Lane in Japanese- sure gives a nostalgic feeling to the photos, thus earning its title of Tokyo's Instagram Alley.

We asked our friend Takumi to bring us into one of the izakayas here, and it was one of the most memorable experience ever! The space upstairs was smoky and tight, but we get to see the other side of the Japanese people.

Frankly speaking, I'd love to come back again to this narrow alley just for another photo of it.

We went into arcades for games and got ourselves addicted to Taiko no Tatsujin.

Kabukicho, the sleepless town is where Gintama is staged at. It has a special place in my heart, being a busy, noisy street filled with all kinds of people -just like how it was in the anime, plus all the things your parents won't want you to know about- makes it extra real. I don't even care if it's a red light district, it's just a place that's asking me to come back.

I'll be back soon, Shinjuku!
