caretta shiodome illumination

I'm finally almost done with this series from 11 months ago. Lesson learnt: discard those that didn't pass.
I knew I had to visit some spots for illuminations in Japan during winter, cos they're one of the most magical experiences one can ever ask for.
Caretta Shiodome is our last illumination of the trip (after Yokohama, Roppongi Hills and Shinjuku), and it was the only one that we didn't go close enough to look at. (What an amazing crowd...)

Ending the trip with Ichiran sure makes you feel good.

Ciao Tokyo.
We headed back to Asakusa for a quick dip in Jakotsuyu to freshen up before our flight at midnight, then reached home the next morning. What a great way to end the year.

santa claus alert

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: A PARADE OF SANTA AHEAD
Feel free to skip if you get bored of seeing similarly composed photos of humans dressed in Santa (or deer or something) riding some vehicle on the street. I loved the parade -it's a little surprise for us in Omotesando while on the way to Tokyu Plaza. What a fun crowd!

Harajuku was super fun. Humans here are fun too. Love the energy here and definitely a place to be back every single time.

osanpo camera: asakusa

Just few shots from the neighborhood we lived in Asakusa.

shinjuku gyoen

Alright. Never come here on Mondays (or at least check if places are open before you go)

Japan has the best culture I could ask for: do not discriminate against the 2D characters!

That is just so cute.

We stayed nearby during our next trip (and finally got to visit this garden!!)

from ueno to akb

We went to Harbs in Ueno just to find out they still haven't got their famous mille-feuille ready, so we each got a slice of cake and coffee. The bottomless coffee was definitely worth a try!

Then we took a stroll to Akihabara, the otaku heaven and the birthspot of the AKB girls.

Stopped by a post office nearby to send some postcards.

Finally something AKB! Must've been chilly to dress like this in winter.

Heavenly. I loved this series but haven't got to read it lately...

Let's go to Yotsubashi Camera!

Saw this and immediately queued for our Nintendo Switch here (tax-free and with neon colors! Yipee)

My sister was too happy with her purchase today, and was totally okay to lug the game console and head over to Yotsuya after this.

Found a poster with the CEO of the hotel we stayed in. That's... interesting.
